Project AWARE and Koh Lanta based Scubafish will sponsor two earth day events on April 24th. The activities are also part of international year of the reef, a year long campaign to raise awareness about coral reefs and the threats facing these vibrant ecosystems.
In Kantang bay there will be a late afternoon beech clean-up, open to all interested participants. Earlier in the day qualified divers are invited to sign-up for fish identification dive at Koh Haa, with results to contribute to project AWARE,s Asia Pacific Fish Survey.
Launching in the United Stares of America on 22 April 1970, Earth Day has been raising environmental awareness on a global scale.
