Koh Lanta Thailand Blog features Pol. Maj. Prasit Yodthong Chief of Crime Suppression of Ko Lanta Police Station for outstanding service at road side assistance, he fixed a tire of a tourist SUV it was not his job but he instantly volunteered and did it entirely by him self. Well Done Prasit Yodthong and thanks.

Ha!
So by helping a tourist would be something spectacular?
I thought that was their job, to serve and protect..
Well, I live in Phuket and here the major task the police has is to catch tourists walking on their way to the beach without T-shirt or fining tourists for crossing the solid lane-lines on the road. Does not matter how many thais that did it at the same time, if you are white, you’re getting caught for something.
One time they wanted money for calling the ambulance when my friend was hit by a car and broke her arm. They said they needed 400thb for making the call.
The thai police is pathetic..
